The Belarusian energy system was created in 1931 year. It was led by an organized 15 May 1931 Mr. Regional Directorate of State-Electric Power Plants and Grids of the Byelorussian SSR - "Belenergo".
By the end of the 1930s, the installed capacity of the Belarusian energy system reached 129 MW, and years of electricity generation - 508 million. кВт•ч. IN 1933 gave current Mogilev CHPP, and a year later - Minsk HPP-2. In the same year, heating of Minsk was started.
At the end of the Great Patriotic War, the Belarusian energy industry was almost completely destroyed. After the liberation of Belarus from the German occupiers, the capacity of power plants was only 3,4 MW. But thanks to the selfless work of the personnel of the power system and power builders, it was restored in the shortest possible time. 13 power plants and the construction of new.
By the end 1960 installed capacity of power plants amounted to 756 MW, and the production of electricity 2,6 billion. кВт•ч. A turbine unit was launched at Berezovskoye GRES, Orsha CHPP, Novopolotsk TPP, Mogilev CHPP-2, Lukomlskaya GRES. Equipment for high and supercritical steam parameters is introduced at the power plants of the republic.
Due to the intensive construction of a powerful transmission line in 1965 the formation of the Unified Belarusian Energy System was completed - all power plants were connected to parallel operation, and commissioning of the overhead line 330 kV «Minsk-Vilnius" allowed Belarus to join the Unified Energy System of the European Part of the USSR.
IN 1984 work has begun on the construction of a voltage substation 750 kV Belorusskaya near Slutsk, and in 1986 put into operation VL 750 kV "Ignalina NPP - Substation" Belorusskaya "for voltage 330 kV.
In accordance with the structural transformations in the energy industry of the USSR in 1988 Belglavenergo is transformed into the Belarusian Territorial Energy Association (Feasibility study of Belorusenergo), and in 1995 Mr. — in concern "Belenergo".
The generating capacities of the power system received the greatest development in the 90s of the last century. During this period, powerful power units were put into operation.: in 1992. – at Minsk CHPP-4 250 MW, V 1995 Mr. — at Gomel CHPP-2 180 MW, V 1998 Mr. — at the Orsha CHP CCGT-70 MW, V 1999 Mr. — at Minsk CHPP-5 330 MW.
Belarusian energy industry confidently entered the third millennium. The energy complex of the republic allows today to successfully solve the problem of uninterrupted and reliable energy supply to the sectors of the national economy and the population of Belarus.
The largest and most significant enterprise among the regional energy systems of the Republic of Belarus, with installed power 2419,25 MW. – RUE "Minskenergo", which generates almost thirty percent of the electricity produced in the republic and the thermal energy supplied in the system of the State Production Association "Belenergo", carries out complex activities for the production, transfer, distribution and sale of electrical and thermal energy, aimed at ensuring reliable and uninterrupted power supply to consumers in the city of Minsk and the Minsk region. The enterprise is located in the center of regional energy associations, connecting them into a single republican energy system.
The history of the power industry of the Minsk region is vividly presented today in the created photo archive of our branches:
By the way, Minsk Energy System in 2020 celebrated its 125th anniversary (Order "On the creation of the Minsk energy system" dated 03.05.2021. № 330). Its history is inextricably linked with the history and fate of our country.. She survived all the difficult years of her trials and went through all the brightest stages of recovery.. Exactly one hundred and twenty-five years, it warms and illuminates our every new day..
The first sources of electricity in Minsk were put into operation in January 1895 of the year. Then, at the electric and water supply station - the Elvod water pumping station, steam engines started working according to 100 and 50 l. with. with dynamos 110V DC. In addition to water supply, governor's houses were electrified, Bishop and Zakharyevskaya street.
But over time, the demand for electricity grows.. And this becomes the reason for building in 1904 year of the new building of the power plant across the river Svisloch, a to 1917 this power plant was already equipped with three diesel engines and two steam turbines with a total capacity of 1400hp.
Over the long years of its operation, the Minsk Energy System and the United Energy System of the Republic of Belarus as a whole, have come a long way. Destroyed by World War I, Białopolska and German occupations of the power plant, begin to recover only closer to 1930 year.
So, already in 1927 year, reconstruction and expansion of the station, due to the launch of tram transport in the 1930s, made it possible to increase the capacity of HPP-1 to 6,7 MW. And in March 1934 the 1st stage of the Minsk HPP-2 was launched (later CHPP-2) power 6,8 MW. IN 1940 work began on the launch of the second stage of HPP-2. A number of small power plants were built in the district centers of Minsk region. By this time, electricity generation in the region was more than 82 MW.
And here in 1940 In 1998, the USSR People's Commissariat of Power Plants provided for the construction of a number of power plants in the Byelorussian SSR, including CHP. However, the plans were destroyed by the war..
Restoration of the energy economy, destroyed during the Great Patriotic War, started only in 1944 year.
A new impetus to the development of the power industry in Minsk and the region was given by the creation in December 1962 of the Year of the District Department of Energy and Electrification "Minskenergo".
The ancestor of the enterprise was the Minsk regional networks, which included five divisions - city networks, heating networks, CHP - 2, energy supervision, as well as Minsk, Slutsk, Borisov and Molodechno electric networks.
In general, the period from 1960 by 1980 has become a time of transformation for the Minsk energy system. Further already in the eighties formed, qualitatively changed the composition of energy capacities, as a result, the Minsk energy system has become one of the largest in the republic. And she retains this status to this day..
At the beginning of the nineties, the Production Association of Energy and Electrification of the Minsk Region included 14 structural units. Among them: CHPP-3, CHPP-4, Zhodino CHPP, CHPP-5 under construction, Minsk heating networks with CHPP-2 and others.
The period of the second half and the end of the nineties was interesting and eventful.. It was marked by the introduction of modern technologies in the construction of heating networks – heating mains began to be laid using PI pipelines. Huge work has also been carried out to improve the reliability of electrical networks of all voltages..
Reliable and uninterrupted supply of consumers in Minsk and the Minsk region has been and remains the main task of RUE "Minskenergo". The company values its history and carefully preserves the best traditions of dedication and responsibility for the new generation of power engineers, for those, who tomorrow will be responsible for the light and warmth of a new day.
